Reasons for not getting traffic even after writing a blog – mistakes that I myself made
Assalamu Alaikum.
When I started my blog, I thought that by publishing articles, visitors would start coming gradually.
But the reality is a little different.
Many people are surprised to see that even after writing 20-30 articles, not even 5-10 visitors come to the website a day.
I myself have gone through this problem.
Today I will talk about some of the reasons why traffic does not come even after writing a blog.
1. Not writing about what people search for
This is the biggest mistake.
Many new bloggers write about topics of their choice, but do not see whether people are searching for that topic on Google.
Suppose you write about a topic that not even 10 people search for a month.
Then no matter how good the article is, the chances of getting visitors are low.
I made this mistake the most in the beginning.
2. Not wanting to click on the title
Sometimes the article is good, but the title is not attractive.
See two titles:
❌ Some information about Android
✅ What happens if you don't restart your Android phone?
The second title is curious.
People are interested in clicking.
Titles are very important for getting traffic.
3. There are thousands of similar content
Why will Google show your article?
You need to ask yourself this question.
If your writing is the same as the writing of 500 other websites, then it is difficult to create different value for Google.
Adding your own experience, opinion or real examples makes the content different.
4. Google takes time because it is a new website
Many people expect traffic by publishing 10 posts.
But in the case of new websites, Google often builds trust slowly.
Some websites see very little traffic for 3-6 months.
This is normal.
It is difficult to survive in blogging if you don't have patience.
5. Forgetting to Publish an Article
Many bloggers never update a post after publishing it.
But updating an old article can often improve the ranking.
I have seen visitors increase after editing an old post a few times and adding new information.
6. If the website is slow, visitors leave
Suppose someone enters your website from Google.
But it takes 8-10 seconds for the page to load.
Most people will not wait.
They will go back and go to another website.
For this reason, speed is very important.
7. Just writing, but no value
It is difficult to say, but true.
There are many articles that the reader does not learn anything new after reading.
Google now prefers content that answers people's questions or solves problems.
So instead of writing just to increase the number of words, it is more important to create helpful content.
How do I choose a topic now?
Earlier, I used to write about what I liked.
Now I see:
Whether people are searching
Whether the topic is being discussed
Whether there is a real problem
Whether my own experience can be added
If these four things are met, I work on the topic.
Last thing
Not getting traffic to blogging does not mean that the website is bad.
Many times, traffic does not come due to lack of topic selection, title, patience and consistency.
Personally, I think that 20 articles are better than 100 ordinary articles and helpful articles are more valuable.
