Will AI End Tech Jobs or Create New Opportunities?

The topic I will talk about today is one of the most discussed topics for those in the tech field. There are many who want to enter the tech field and work with AI. But they have a doubt that if AI continues to rule the tech field the way it has, in which direction will the tech field move in the next five to 10 years and what will be the role of AI in that case? My post today is to discuss these issues.

A few years ago, people were busy learning how to use AI. In fact, a few years ago, there was no such thing as AI. Today, companies are not looking for AI users, but people who can build AI (Builders). Below are some recent information. Check out the data—

• AI Engineer was ranked No. 1 on LinkedIn’s 2025 Jobs on the Rise report as the fastest-growing job in the world.

• AI Engineer and AI Infrastructure roles are also among the fastest-growing tech jobs in LinkedIn’s 2026 analysis.

• According to the Stanford AI Index, AI-related skills now account for about 2.5% of total job postings in the US, up 297% over the past decade.

• The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs analysis says AI and Information Processing Technologies will impact 86% of businesses by 2030.

• According to the same report, technological change could create 170 million new jobs by 2030, although some old jobs will also disappear.

But there is one question on everyone's mind, that is—

When every company wants to create AI Agent, AI Automation, AI Analytics, AI Customer Support, AI Decision System and AI Product, then who will design these systems?

The answer is: AI Engineers.

Many people think that AI will replace everyone. In reality, it is seen that new types of jobs, new types of skills and new types of engineering roles are being created due to AI. As AI adoption increases, the demand for AI-related talent also increases. Think for yourself, as the era of AI progresses, new models will come, and more skilled people will be needed to maintain them. For these reasons, some jobs like typewriters may disappear completely, but ultimately there will be no shortage of jobs.

It is like a river, when one bank breaks, the other bank will rise. So I see the period 2026-2030 not as a time to learn how to use AI, but as a time to build AI.

But creating an AI Agent, RAG System, Multi-Agent Workflow, Computer Vision Solution or Enterprise AI Product is a profession. And in the future market, the value of a profession is always higher than skill.
